What better way to introduce ourselves than showing you our wedding film.
A little more about us…
Growing up in Alaska, Julia has always exhibited a wandering spirit. Her ambitious nature stems from outdoor adventures with her dogs and helping build her parents log cabin. In high school, she took a black and white film class where she fell in love with the process and started shooting senior portraits of her friends.
Drawn to good design and fine art, she pursued a fine art degree at UAF, until she decided to move down to Spokane, Washington with her husband, to start Don and Julia Photography. Between her travels from Alaska to Washington, she has journeyed to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Southeast Asia, shooting weddings, adventuring, and staying curious.
Currently, she is finishing her degree in fine art, traveling the globe, meeting like-minded creative’s, and building a portfolio that expresses her truest self as an artist.
Keeping to his Florida roots, Don’s love for open spaces and picturesque sunsets has given him a natural ability to perceive light.
Don first started shooting weddings in Australia, where he met a group of photographers who were passionate about wedding photography and good storytelling. Frustrated with how photojournalists were being under paid and under appreciated, he decided to start his own photography business, where he focused on shooting destination weddings in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
After finishing his photojournalism degree at UAF (University of Alaska Fairbanks), he decided to travel back to Australia to pursue wedding photography full-time. After flying back and forth from Alaska to Australia for the last few years, he decided to base himself in a small but trendy city in Washington called Spokane, where he has based Don and Julia Photography.
Currently, he spends most days writing, spending quality time with his wife, connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs, and trying to better himself as a human being.
